![]() Maranda previously led development and acquisition activities in the Midwest market for VetCor Professional Practices, a leading group veterinary hospital and support organization with over 175 hospital locations, and also worked for BluePearl Veterinary Partners, a specialty group veterinary hospital with over 50 hospital locations. She has worked with multiple leading group veterinary hospital and support organizations in addition to executive roles with other veterinary service companies. Maranda has nearly 18 years of veterinary industry experience. Alex graduated from the University of Illinois – Champaign with majors in Consumer Economics and Finance. Before working at NSH, Alex worked in corporate finance for Allstate Insurance Company (NYSE: All). ![]() Before working at Surgery Partners, Alex worked at National Surgical Healthcare (“NSH”), an owner and operator of surgical facilities in partnership with physicians that, with Alex’s assistance, was ultimately sold to Surgery Partners in 2017. Alex was responsible for helping the business development team execute on the company’s M&A growth strategy by facilitating majority investments in ambulatory surgery centers and physician-owned surgical hospitals. Prior to joining Heartland Veterinary Partners, Alex worked for Surgery Partners (NSDQ: SGRY), a leading operator of surgical facilities with over 180 facilities operating in 32 states all in partnership with physicians. On occasion, you may find her rounding up hens for the night and trying to keep them out of trouble, but that may simply be a ruse to find some fresh eggs for a tasty meal!Īlex has extensive experience in corporate development functions in the healthcare services industry, as well as corporate finance in the auto insurance industry. In her spare time, Jana loves to travel with friends enjoying good food and wine, spending time with her family, and her very spoiled bottle-fed cat, Stubbs. As she continued working for various private practitioners, Jana found herself again working among friends at Heartland Veterinary Partners. Those years spent on campus kept her coming back to veterinary medicine, and she later joined Compassion-First Pet Hospitals as a veterinarian and paraprofessional staff recruiter. ![]() She became fully involved with the Veterinary Leadership Experience program in 2005 and helped to expand leadership training in the veterinary programs for students around the country. These years of education and experience helped her understand and develop a veterinary outreach financial program for students when she joined the AVMA GHLIT a few years later. Opportunity prevailed itself in many start-up situations. Having experience from a very early start filled with farm animals and pets, working with animals was a path close to her heart. Jana has 18 years in various facets of the veterinary industry: lab animal researcher, veterinary ophthalmology technician, student financial educator, leadership trainer, and entrepreneur.
